The following list highlights some of the awards and scholarships available to achievers.These awards are presented at JA's Annual Awards & Recognition Event.

ACHIEVER MOTIVATION AWARD
Presented to the two achievers who best answer the following questions: What did you learn from Junior Achievement's Company Program? & How will this experience affect your future?

ADVISOR OF THE YEAR
Presented to one advisor who has shown exceptional dedication and commitment to the Company Program.

ADVISOR TEAM OF THE YEAR
This award recognizes the advisor team that has consistently demonstrated all of the elements of a strong working team and which, in doing so, provided an outstanding team role model to the achievers they advise.

ANNUAL TRADE FAIR AWARD
This awarded to the company that shows the highest degree of professionalism and creativity in designing and presenting their Trade Fair booth as well as having an excellent sales force.

BEST BUSINESS PLAN
This awarded to the company which produces the best business plan.

BEST SHAREHOLDERS' REPORT
This awarded to the company which produces the best overall Shareholders Report.

BIG PICTURE AWARD
Presented to the company that best expresses their company through a portfolio of pictures.

CANJAC AWARD
Each year, five students are selected to attend The CANadian Junior Achievement Conference, which is a week-long business conference with international delegates.

JCI HALIFAX ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT AWARD
A $500 scholarship is awarded to the achiever who best answers the question How would you define "Entrepreneurial Spirit"?, has show outstanding contribution and embodies the entrepreneurial spirit in their JA Company.

CATHERINE ELIZABETH COLSON MEMORIAL AWARD
Established in memory of Miss Catherine Elizabeth Colson who was an active member of the Halifax-Dartmouth Company Program. As an achiever, she was awarded the Outstanding Achiever Award and was a delegate to CANJAC. A $500 scholarship is awarded to an outstanding graduating achiever.

COMPANY MERIT AWARD
Presented to the achiever from each company who has demonstrated a strong commitment to their company and has displayed personal growth throughout the program.

COMPANY OF THE YEAR
Awarded to the best overall company, who have meet or exceeded the minunum requirements and best impress the judging team with their team work, professionalism and business knowledge.

ESSO TEAMWORK AWARD
The winning company will have demonstrated many of the company of the year qualities with a high level of teamwork.

HIGHEST NET PROFIT
Presented to the company with the highest net profit for the year.

BEST WEBSITE AWARD
Presented to the company that shows the highest degree of professionalism and creativitiy in designing and maintaining their company website.

JA MONTH AWARD
Presented to the company that most effectively marketed and promoted their company and/or Junior Achivement during National JA Month in February.

JA NOVA SCOTIA PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This award is available only to company presidents. Selection of the winner is based on a 1000 word essay on the following topic: A president's job consists of motivating your sales force, ensuring a quality product, maintaining accurate administrative and financial procedures, as well as being a team leader. Discuss using specific examples of problems and success from your own company.

MOST IMPROVED COMPANY OF THE YEAR
Presented to the company that shows a dramatic improvement from the beginning of the program to the end.

NOVA SCOTIA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIP ($1,000)
This scholarship is awarded to two graduating achievers based on written and oral presentation of a business plan of their design.

OFFICER AWARDS
There are seven elected positions in every company. All elected officers are eligible to apply for their respective position. A $500 Scholarship is presented to outstanding achievers in the following offices:
  • President of the Year
  • VP Administration of the Year
  • VP Marketing of the Year
  • VP Production of the Year
  • VP Information Technology of the Year
  • VP Finance of the Year
  • VP Human Resources of the Year

OUTSTANDING FIRST YEAR ACHIEVER
Presented to the achiever in his or her first year of the program for outstanding "all around" preformance.

SALESPERSON OF THE YEAR
Presented to the achiever with the best overall sales performance for the year. This may not mean the highest amount in sales rather, it more accurately reflects the most effective selling technique.

SCHOOL PARTICIPATION
Presented to the school or schools that give Junior Achievement the greatest support.
